Arna Wahl Davies has been appointed as the new PCO Association councillor for New Zealand.
She is co-founder and director of Composition, a professional conference organising company which manages mid to large-size conferences throughout New Zealand. Arna brings to the PCOA role more than 20 years’ experience in event management.
Arna, after gaining professional qualifications early in her career, became a chef, working in international hotels and then moving into event management. She started her business a decade ago.
“Yesterday I had the opportunity to be welcomed and participate in my first PCOA councillors’ meeting,” Arna said today.
“I immediately was impressed with the collaborative nature in which the councillors share and work together, led by president Barry Neame.
“The PCOA provides a sense of belonging and community to members, while offering genuine support really shines through with the association. The councillors’ continued communication, webinars and owner-director zoom catch-ups are providing real value to members during these challenging times.”
Mr Neame said the relationship between PCOA and Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) over the years had been beneficial for the business-events industry on both sides of the Tasman.
“Arna is going to be an active participant in strengthening that relationship.”
PCOA has extended its thanks to the previous NZ councillor, Ali Copeman, for her valued contribution over the past three years.
Arna Wahl Davies has been appointed as chair of CINZ’s approved professional conference organisers’ group.
