PCOA in partnership with the Pan Pacific Hotels Group, is calling for applications from our community to be considered for the inaugural Tim Birley Rising Star Award.
Tim was an industry champion who tragically passed away in March 2022. Tim was the ultimate professional, and truly understood how to balance customer care with results for his hotels.
He took the time to get to know clients, and genuinely cared about the industry as a whole.
The inaugural Tim Birley award celebrates Tim’s contribution to the business events sector.
Emulating Tim’s dedication to customer service and professionalism, this annual recognition will be awarded to a rising star from our industry.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Applicants should have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the event industry.
- Applicants should provide an overview of their current position, including responsibilities and achievements, and detail why they should be awarded this prize in no more than 300 words.
- The application should be supported by a written recommendation from the applicant’s direct manager or employer.
- Applicants should be under the age of 30 years.
JUDGING PANEL:
The judging panel shall consist of members from the PCOA Executive Committee and a representative from Pan Pacific Hotels Group.
The winner will be notified prior to the conference and presented with the award at the conference.
The winner will receive economy return flights to Adelaide to accept the award during PCOA23, accommodation, and full conference registration.

This opportunity is open to all Business Events Industry Professionals whether it be a PCO, Event Manager, Coordinator, or supplier to the events industry such as a hotel/venue team member.
