Virtual events play central role in Australians’ working life as online attendance continues to grow

ONE in three of us now attend more than 10 virtual events a month, according to a new study that indicates the sharp growth in online events sparked by the need to work and meet remotely could become permanent.

More than half (51%) of the respondents to the Australian study 1 expect to attend even more virtual events this time next year, while four in five say virtual events can be “as good as or better than their physical event counterparts”.

Business Events Boost Program Applications Now Open

Applications are now open for the Business Events Boost Program.

The new partnership program provides the opportunity to access funding support and leverage Business Events Australia’s expertise to deliver marketing or distribution projects that will help drive demand for domestic business events.

Proposed projects should be innovative, results-orientated and demonstrate the potential to influence domestic decision makers to hold events in Australia. Projects can target corporate meetings, corporate incentives, conferences, exhibitions or association meetings. Activity can include content creation, PR, media buy initiatives, direct marketing or digital campaigns.

Luna Park Sydney will be turning the lights back on from Friday 3 July 2020

Sydney’s iconic home of fun, Luna Park, will re-open its smile from Friday 3 July, 2020 for the first time in 15 weeks after it ceased operations temporarily in line with the Federal and State Governments response to COVID-19.

GOLD COAST CONVENTION AND EXHIBITION CENTRE READY TO REOPEN WITH APPROVED COVID SAFE PLAN

The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC) has received approval from the Gold Coast Public Health Unit to operate under its Site Specific COVID Safe Plan.

Developed in consultation with the GCCEC COVID Safe Task Force, industry bodies, government and health authorities, the plan covers all essential areas of operation including cleaning and hygiene, social distancing – with new floor plans, food and beverage service, training and record keeping.

Welcome to our newly appointed PCOA Councillor for New Zealand

Arna Wahl Davies has been appointed as the new PCO Association councillor for New Zealand.

She is co-founder and director of Composition, a professional conference organising company which manages mid to large-size conferences throughout New Zealand. Arna brings to the PCOA role more than 20 years’ experience in event management.

Arna, after gaining professional qualifications early in her career, became a chef, working in international hotels and then moving into event management. She started her business a decade ago.
