Fast Future CEO Rohit Talwar has been named as the keynote speaker at the upcoming PCOA Conference.
Rohit Talwar to focus on ‘The Future of Meetings, Conferences and Events’ “I think it is a very exciting time for the events industry in Australia and New Zealand,” he said.
“For example, foreign student numbers are up to record levels, a testimony to the quality of local educational talent, which is a key attractor for global industry events.
“Second, the pace of innovation in science and technology across the region is accelerating, and far from being on the edge of things, they are right at the centre of an explosion of new sectors and businesses. I also see a lot of innovation in the meetings sector coming from Australia and New Zealand and I was keen to tap into the latest thinking from local pace setters.”
The focus of his presentation, The Future of Meetings, Conferences, and Events, is to push the edges of attendee thinking on three key aspects of the future.
“Firstly, I want to explore how our world is changing and how disruption drives opportunity, every change that happens in the world drives people’s desire to meet and discuss it,” he said.
“Secondly, I want to demystify key disruptive technologies shaping the future and highlight the opportunities arising from the next wave of trillion dollar industry sectors. Finally, I want to have the message resonate with everyone in the room that the future lies in their grasp and that they can create a positive path to the future in the midst of a fast changing and chaotic world.”
Tourism New Zealand is sponsoring Talwar’s keynote speech. “Rohit is an award-winning speaker whose innovative and thought provoking ideas on where the conference industry is heading will inspire even the most seasoned professional conference organisers,” said Lisa Gardiner, global manager of business events at Tourism New Zealand.
