Last night PCOA president Barry Neame joined the hundreds of invited guests to the spectacular opening of the state-of-the-art newly completed Adelaide Convention Centre East Building.
Neame said, “the launch of the new East Building is another piece of significant infrastructure for the conference & events industry”.
With a 3500 seat capacity, the Hall can be divided into more than 15 configurations, and features the world’s largest rotating seating platforms which can be rotated 180 degrees within minutes.
The first major international conference to be held in the new East Building will be the upcoming 68th International Astronautical Congress in September, expected to attract more than 3500 delegates including tech billionaire Elon Musk – marking the largest event of its kind ever held in Adelaide.
SA Premier Jay Weatherill said “the investment in the expansion and renewal of the Adelaide Convention Centre is expected to bring an extra $1.92 billion into the State’s economy over the next 25 years”.
