Gold Coast Queensland 1 July 2024   June 29^th marked the 20^th anniversary of the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC). Stemming from the recognition that the Gold Coast needed a purpose-designed facility to accommodate conferences, exhibitions, concerts and large-scale gatherings, the collaboration between the Queensland government and Jupiters Ltd, has hosted thousands of domestic and international events since opening in 2004.

Hailed as an architectural marvel, blending form and function, the $167 million Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre opened as Australia’s largest regional convention centre, setting the stage for a successful and rewarding future for the destination.

In 2009, the Centre was expanded to meet demand, adding two multifunction halls, three meeting rooms and three kitchens. Total exhibition space reached 10,000 sqm with the expansion.

Nick Jeffrey, Acting General Manager, GCCEC commented “The Centre has been a major economic driver to the region, supporting local business and employment, attracting leaders of industry, sport and entertainment to our city. In fact, last month The International Communications Association Conference attracted more than $8 million in economic benefit.”
