MEDIA RELEASE – New General Manager for GCCEC

19 December 2024 Gold Coast, Queensland Nick Jeffrey has been appointed to the role of General Manager, Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC).

The appointment comes after recognising the outstanding contributions Nick has made in his role as Acting General Manager. Over the past five months, he has been instrumental in ensuring continued smooth operations of the business, exceptional service delivery and ongoing client satisfaction. Nick has also been responsible for key stakeholder engagement.

HOW GCCEC TRANSFORMED THE GOLD COAST

The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, opened in 2004, transformed the city’s event landscape. Now celebrating 20 years, it has hosted 3,612 events, attracting millions and showcasing international talent.

PCOA conference sells out

The annual conference for the Professional Conference Organisers Association (PCOA), taking place at Queen’s Wharf in Brisbane from Sunday, is set to be the association’s largest ever meeting.

More trans-Tasman flights an opportunity for business events

In addition to the Gold Coast becoming Australia’s most connected city to New Zealand, with the launch of flights between the Gold Coast and both Hamilton and Dunedin from mid-next year, Jetstar will fly four flights a week between Sydney and Hamilton from mid-2025.

The International Association for Media and Communication Research – (IAMCR) 2024 Conference brought together 1,300 international delegates from 61 countries at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre, 30 June – 4 July 2024.
