The sell-out sign has gone up early for exhibition booths at the 2016 annual conference of the Professional Conference Organisers’ Association.
The sell-out is the fourth in a row for the event and has come five months ahead of the conference, to be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre between 27 and 29 November 2016.
Barry Neame, the PCO association president, said the clamour for the 60 booths illustrated the value suppliers placed on being able to build a rapport with those working in the conference and events industry.
“The suppliers are aware of the quality of the delegates at the conference and the role they have in making decisions.
“It’s a win-win situation for the suppliers and for our industry.
“There can be enormous benefits, both in time saved and product choices, in having a wide range of products and offerings displayed in one place at one time.”
Mr Neame said the quality of the suppliers was relevant to the continuing growth of professionalism in the conference and exhibition industry.
“Most are more than suppliers – they are people who can impart some of their skills and business ideas to our delegates.
“Correspondingly, they can learn from our members in terms of what they are looking for and might be able to respond accordingly.”
“We will be examining the opportunities available for Business and Career development in this fast paced sector.”
“The program will look at key industry trends and issues, and encourage discussion to drive innovation and continued success in the business events sector.”
“The continuing growth in Venue infrastructure in Australia reflects the confidence the sector has in the growth of face to face meetings. The conference will also examine the impact of this growth and the changing expectations of the convenors of tomorrow.”
This year’s workshop program is being developed based on member and business partner feedback and will focus on the how to of a range of skill sets.
